Samsung Galaxy S25 series could ditch Exynos 2500?
Samsung is setting up to introduce its next-generation flagship series, the Galaxy S25 series, which is expected to be entirely powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 is nearly half a year away from its debut; it’s supposed to take the floor sometime in early 2025. Before any official announcement, leaks and rumors already had almost the specs of the upcoming Galaxy S25 series.
For so long the series has been in controversy regarding its chipset, whether the brand will power the entire series with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 or go with its in-house Exynos.
Initially, it was reported that Samsung could power its coming flagship line with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 instead of the Exynos 2500. However, later the leaks hinted that the company is still working on the Exynos 2500 to power the Galaxy S25 series.
Now, again, a well-reliable tipster, Tarun Vats, on X, shared a post suggesting that the Exynos 2500 might not power the coming series. This means that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will power the entire lineup globally. He also shared a screenshot in which it’s mentioned that Exynos is going down after a year. Also, the current reason behind ditching the Exynos 2500 to power the Galaxy S25 is the failure of installation.
However, Samsung has yet to release any official statement regarding this. It will be interesting to see whether Samsung will go with its in-house Exynos 2500 or power the entire Galaxy S25 series with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
