Google’s October Play System Update Rolls Out, but Galaxy S24 Series Still on Older Version

Samsung is off to a great start with the new October 2024 security update bulletin for its Galaxy phones and tablets; however, only Galaxy S24 FE owners are already enjoying the update in almost every major country.
Meanwhile, the company is rolling out the September Google Play System update for the Galaxy S24 Series in the US, with Google’s October 2024 update also demonstrated.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is receiving a new update, the Google Play System update that carries the September 2024 patch. With this latest security update from Google, which packs an update size of 56 MB, the Galaxy S24 Ultra owners will get a more safe and secure software experience as it upgrades the device’s overall security and stability while also protecting the phone from certain external harms.
Alongside Google has also released its newest update—the October 2024 Play System update—for the entire Android ecosystem, including Samsung. In fact, this latest Play System update brings some noticeable features and enhancements that significantly drive the user’s experience to the next level.
Feature-wise, the update involves the addition of a new Instant Hotspot feature, which will now pop up notifications when your hotspot is available with a new status icon when connected. However, Samsung’s One UI supports more or less similar functionality for its Galaxy devices.
What’s more is the addition of the games achievement section in the search results and details page. While Google has many new features and enhancements in store for the developers, Samsung Galaxy devices will now experience more improved Android OS and Wear OS features.
By contrast, it’s expected that Samsung will soon begin rolling out the new October 2024 security update to other eligible Galaxy phones and tablets, which is currently limited to the Galaxy S24 FE.
