Samsung brings back the GIF creation feature to Smart Select via the Samsung Capture’s update

Although the One UI 6.1.1 update brought about a lot of new yet improved features and changes, such as the addition of the latest Galaxy AI features and much more, Galaxy users have faced a lot of inconvenience right after updating their devices to this version, one of which is the removal of the GIF creation tool from the Smart Select Edge panel. 

Now, it appears like Samsung stood to its promise and has begun providing the GIF feature back within the Smart Select Edge panel. 

A few weeks ago, Samsung officially clarified and shared a timeline for bringing back the useful GIF creation tool. According to the company, the GIF feature was about to make its comeback in early October via an app update. Whereas, the company has revamped the Smart Select panel that allows it to gather all the Galaxy AI features at the top edge and has decided to implement this theme with the One UI 6.1.1 update for the first time. 

However, the GIF creation feature was causing some sort of inconvenience, and hence Samsung substantially removed the feature from the Smart Select Edge panel. Meanwhile, now it seems like Samsung has started providing the GIF creation tool back via the latest version (v5.8.56.4) of the Samsung Capture update.

Now, with the newer version of Samsung Capture, users can now find the GIF creation tool within the Smart Select Edge panel. Nevertheless, a few users have only spotted the comeback of the GIF creation feature via the Samsung Capture update on the Galaxy Store, while it’s expected that Samsung will be expanding out the update to more users in the near future. 

Not only the GIF creation feature, the latest version of Samsung Capture further brings the new PIN feature, which is now available directly from the toolbar after choosing a particular area; drag the selected area to adjust the position; and finally, the touch range has now been modified to make the adjustment of the selected area easier.
