For years, Samsung has been the leading smartphone manufacturer in the world, with its innovations highly praised by the audience. Nevertheless, gradually the company is fading its top spot in the market, while the entry of foldables couldn’t do as it was expected. Thus, Samsung might go for releasing a much cheaper foldable, probably in the near future.
With the release of IDC market share analysis, Samsung’s market share has declined drastically, with several reasons behind the setback, while one of them is the foldable form factor.
While Samsung expected that its foldables could help in raising the company’s market share, it’s definitely getting tough competition from Chinese rivals like Xiaomi and Huawei. This caused the company to face a severe decline in the shipment of Galaxy smartphones, including the Z series, in the third and final quarter of 2024.
Meanwhile, in order to attain higher satisfaction concerns from the audience, Samsung could introduce much cheaper foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip versions, soon.
Although there are no words towards the plans about the upcoming affordable Galaxy foldables, Samsung’s representatives further stated that the company is focusing on continuing with more slimmer and lighter foldables with a better and redefined form factor. Thus, this might help Samsung to achieve more satisfaction and increased shipment of foldables from the customers.
Moreover, Samsung is reportedly working on several aspects behind the scenes, from One UI 7 to the Galaxy S25 series,and even planning to launch a Fan Edition variant of the Galaxy Z series in the form of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE in the next year or later. Also, these are all predictions and assertions; Samsung can still perform certain changes in its planning and plotting area, though.
