Samsung could release the One UI 7 beta update this week to the Galaxy S24 series, and the update is already reported to bring the NowBar live activities feature, which has interactive pill-shaped live activities on the lock screen.
The new NowBar feature is rumored to bring interactive pill-shaped live activities on the lock screen, and now the design elements of the coming feature surface online. However, the feature seems similar to what Apple introduced with its iOS 18 called Live Activities through Dynamic Island.

Now Samsung is looking forward to offering the same feature with a new title called NowBar with One UI 7 to get important information at a glance right on the lock screen. A tipster, TechKhaled, on X, shared One UI 7 NowBar screenshots. The post revealed the appearance of Samsung’s live activities feature, which also includes timers and voice recordings, displayed in a dedicated NowBar.
The NowBar has a pill-shaped display between lock screen shortcuts and will show live updates from applications such as Samsung Clock’s Timer and Voice Recorder. It will showcase an app icon, key information through text, and real-time updates. Noticeably, the apps that need to display frequent notifications generally opt for live activities. Since the official One UI 7 has yet to be released, it remains to see how beneficial this feature will be on the Galaxy devices.
