Samsung officially confirmed Exynos 2600 cancellation rumor was false
Finally, Samsung broke its silence and officially denied rumors regarding the cancellation of the Exynos 2600 chipset.
It’s already almost confirmed that Samsung will ditch its in-house Exynos 2500 over Snapdragon 8 Elite to power the Galaxy S25 series. However, the Exynos 2500 is still under development.
Previously, the reports suggested that Samsung is struggling with the yield rate of its 2nm process, which could force the company to drop the mass production of the Exynos 2600, but now Samsung has officially denied the false rumors.
If the report is to be believed, according to a Samsung spokesperson, the claims regarding stepping back from the Exynos 2600 manufacturing couldn’t be further from the truth. He also stated, “I can confirm that the claim that Exynos 2600 production is being canceled is not true and is based on groundless rumors.”
However, apart from this, there are no specific details about what kind of challenges the company is facing with the 2nm chip manufacturing process. The spokesperson also said that no matter if Samsung is facing challenges, it doesn’t step back from working on this Exynos 2600 chipset easily.
At least for now, the Exynos 2600 is anticipated to power the Galaxy S26; if this expectation comes true, then it remains to see whether Samsung will power the entire series with its in-house chip or also use Snapdragon.
