Samsung is rolling out the December 2024 security update for the Galaxy devices in different parts of the world. Meanwhile, the 5th generation foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 units, are receiving the security update in Europe and South Korea, and now it’s time for the US models.
The company is now looking towards expanding the December 2024 security update for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 to more regions; meanwhile, the carrier-locked units are currently getting the update on T-Mobile and USCellular carriers in the USA.
Carrier-locked Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 are getting new update in the US
The update has been released with their respective detectable firmware versions, where the carrier-locked Galaxy Z Fold 5 has the F946USQS5DXKC version number, while the Galaxy Z Flip 5 comes with the F731USQS5DXKC build number.
Although the update doesn’t mention any major features or changes, it consists of several fixes for all the security-related vulnerabilities that have already been addressed within the older version that aims to provide a secure experience to the users while also protecting the device from external potential threats.
On the opposite side, the security update further brings several performance optimizations, adds stability to the system behaviour that will significantly lead to a smooth, stable and optimized user experience while also preventing certain severe risks that could harm the device
