Samsung’s constant approach to delivering security updates to its Galaxy devices is commendable. The December 2024 security update is rolling out for smartphones in full swing, while the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 were the first foldable to taste the latest patch. Now, the Galaxy S23 series has started getting the update in the US.

While the One UI 7 beta is approaching near, Samsung began delivering the new December 2024 security update for the carrier-locked Galaxy S23 owners in the US region, more specifically the update spotted on the US Cellular network and expected to be available on more carriers soon. The update will be expanded to more countries shortly.

The update for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra has been released with the S911USQS5CXJX, S916USQS5CXJX, and S918USQS5CXJX firmware versions.

Being a minor issue and bug fixing patch, the update bulletin significantly addresses a lot of security vulnerabilities addressed previously that aim to offer a secure user experience while also protecting the device from certain external potential risks by improving the overall system safety.

Alternatively, the December update further adds stability and reliability to the system behaviour, brings certain performance optimizations, delivers much improved features, and allows users to have a smooth, stable and optimized experience.

Moreover, the latest security update for the Galaxy S23 lineup users is already going live in the US and South Korea, while the update will follow other eligible regions soon.
