Samsung’s One UI 7 is the best software upgrade Galaxy fans have ever received. This latest version is significantly based on the Android 15 OS and brought about a lot of impressive features that offered Galaxy smartphones an exciting visual overhaul. Among other features, the newest version also brought up the capability to apply widgets directly by holding the app from the home screen.

Samsung One UI 7 Makes Widgets Smarter with Direct Access Option

It’s commendable that Samsung is constantly working on improving the overall experience of its Galaxy audience. Meanwhile, with the latest Android 15-based One UI 7 version, Samsung now offered the capability to directly apply any app’s widget on the phone’s home screen by tapping and holding the app and choosing the widgets option.

Although the direct widget functionality is certainly new for Galaxy fans, it’s something that Apple has already introduced in the latest iOS 18 in September. This iOS version significantly allows iPhone users to easily customize their lock and home screens by turning the home screen apps into widgets and resizing them effortlessly.

Basically, widgets are the most useful yet miniature version of the application that offers users quick access to the information. While Samsung’s One UI 7 version not only introduced some redesigned widgets, it further let users directly apply widgets on the home screen by holding the app and selecting the new Widgets option, which opens up the Widget screen for that specific app (as you can see through the image).

Moreover, Samsung has brought plenty of new features and changes that are more or less inspired by Apple’s iOS, while the Direct widget option is one among them. Also, Samsung is not done yet; it’s expected that the company will implement more features and tweaks in the future.
