Samsung One UI 7 Prioritizes Important Notifications

Notifications on smartphones play a crucial role in maintaining connectivity with the apps to know certain key information at a glance. However, most of the applications send unnecessary notifications that are of no use and simply clutter the notification panel. It’s amazing! Samsung now has a smart solution to this issue with the One UI 7 beta, allowing Galaxy users to filter their notifications.

One UI 7 Beta 2 to allow users to filter their Notifications

According to the recent reports presented by Android Authority (via a user on Reddit), Samsung’s newly-released One UI 7 Beta 2 has a new yet useful aspect hidden within, indeed that significantly shows only key notifications without interrupting the flow of important notifications.

It’s basically a setting that allows Galaxy owners to filter their notifications that are no longer important to them, and such notifications will be displayed at the bottom of the notification panel in the form of groups.

The user found a new Filter Notifications option under the Advanced Settings that lets users select the type of notifications that are to be filtered with certain options, including old notifications (received more than a few days ago), background activities (notifications for an app running in the background), and lastly, minimized notifications (notifications that are to be minimized in notification category settings).

Alternatively, when one or more notification filters are applied, One UI 7 will display those in a separate card at the bottom of the notification panel under the “More Notifications” section, while tapping this specific card will present all the filtered notifications in an expanded form.

It seems like Samsung is moving towards a smart perspective for grouping the notifications in the way they look less cluttered. On the opposite side, the newly launched One UI 7 version already presented the capability to split the notification panel from the Quick Settings; however, it further adds an option to revert to the older combined control center.
