Samsung is supposed to debut its eighth-generation foldable phones, including Galaxy Z Fold 8, next year, which is anticipated to be affordable $200 than Apple’s first foldable iPhone.
Last year, it was reported that Apple postponed plans to debut the Foldable iPhone due to the durability of the screen. Now, according to new leaks under the hood, Apple is gearing up to debut its first foldable iPhone in late 2026 or early 2027, and mass production is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Recently, it was revealed that Apple could adopt Samsung’s UDC technology (under-display camera) for its first foldable iPhone. Now, a new report suggests that the foldable iPhone could cost at least $200 more than the Galaxy Z Fold 8.
Last month, a reliable analyst, Tim Long, revealed that Apple will price its first book-style foldable phone, the iPhone 18 Fold, at $2,299. This means that it will be 20% more expensive than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6, which costs $1,899.
Now, a new report from Instant Digital claims that Apple’s first foldable iPhone will cost between $2,100 and $2,300. It remains to be seen whether Samsung will raise the Galaxy Z Fold 8’s price.

Currently, Samsung is setting up to debut the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 at the Galaxy Unpacked event sometime in July.
