Spotify Announced To Add Music Videos In Particular Regions: Here’s The List

Spotify is all set to give tough competition to YouTube Music by announcing that it will start showing music videos on the platform.
Spotify has confirmed that it plans to start showing music videos on apps like YouTube Music, but only in some specific regions. The aim behind this new change seems to be to stand beside YouTube as a tough competitor and further enhance the connection between artists and fans—the “artist-to-fan connection.”
Spotify offers music videos on the “Now Playing” screen, with a “switch to video” button that will show the official music video for a song they are listening to on a phone or TV. This feature works similarly to YouTube Music, which has supported a switch between music and video since its inception.
Regarding this, Spotify explains that it will make this feature available across all Android, iOS, and Spotify apps on TV and desktop devices. The brand also offers users the power to switch between audio and video while the song plays and switch to video on mobile. It is also as simple as just rotating the device to landscape orientation.
This new change is only available in the beta stage and is limited to only where they are available. Since the brand has selected a few countries where Spotify plays music videos as follows –
- U.K.
- Germany
- Italy
- Netherlands
- Poland
- Sweden
- Brazil
- Colombia
- Philippines
- Indonesia
- Kenya
These are the selected countries where Spotify has announced it will show music videos. At the moment, there is no commitment, but the brand may expand this feature to more regions in the future.
