Expert RAW’s Astro photo mode available for Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy S21 series
Expert Raw is one of the useful app which provide many features for shooting quality photos. Initially, Samsung introduced it for the Galaxy S21 series, but later it expanded to other flagship devices, including Galaxy S20, S22, S23, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Fold 4 and more. However, some features like Astrophoto are only limited to Galaxy S22. But with the new update, it will also be available for the Galaxy S21 users.
Users who own Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy S21 Series (S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra) can use the astrophotography feature by installing the new update of Expert RAW. It is also worth noticing that users should install the April 2023 security update before updating the app.
How will the update be beneficial?
The latest update has brought you the new feature Astrophoto as well as it will also provide some improvements that enhance the overall performance of the app. And the new feature will unlock the new potential of taking photos of night sky objects like stars and constellations. With an inbuilt algorithm, it also helps you to know about the location of different constellations. However, the quality of photos depends on how the visibility of the sky in your area. To get the best results, we recommend you take the night shots in less lightning areas where no artificial light is available.
How to get it on your device
As we said earlier, to get the Astrography feature on your device, first you have to install the April security patch update by following these steps:
- Go to the system settings
- Then tap on the software update, now click on the download and install button
- Wait until the search has finished. If it shows a new update available, then tap on the download.
Note: The April 2023 security update is now almost available for each Galaxy device, but in case you don’t receive it yet, then you have to wait for it.
After updating the device to the latest security patch, you now have to update the Expert RAW app. You can easily update it from the Galaxy store.

April 2024 Update also available for Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 in South Korea
After introducing the April 2024 security patch to the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, and Galaxy Z Fold 3 devices, Samsung has now made the April 2024 security patch update live for the Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy S22, and Galaxy S21 smartphones in South Korea. Earlier, the company had already distributed the same update for these smartphones in some regions.
Notably, the Galaxy S23 FE is getting the April 2024 security patch update in South Korea with the firmware version number S711NKSS1BXD5. For the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra, the update is coming with the firmware version numbers S901NKSU3DXD3, S906NKSU3DXD3, and S908NKSU3DXD3, respectively. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra are getting the same update with firmware version numbers G991NKSU4FXD3, G996NKSU4FXD3, and G998NKSU4FXD3, respectively.
The April 2024 update brings new security-related enhancements; as per the documentation, there are more than 40 fixes introduced. Google has included 27 fixes that will resolve issues in the Android OS. Along with this, Samsung has also added 17 patches that will fix the issues found in Galaxy devices exclusively.
Along with this, Samsung has also introduced a mobile ID function for the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 users. With this function, users will be able to carry their driving license and national veteran registration card in the Samsung Wallet.
