In the recent unpacked event, Samsung unveiled the latest generation of its foldables, including the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. Along with this, the company has also introduced the new generation of Galaxy Tabs and Watches, the Galaxy Tab S9 series and the Galaxy Watch 6. In the new tablets and foldables, the company has installed the latest iteration of One UI, One UI 5.1.1. The Galaxy Watch 6 is equipped with One UI 5, and now these will be available for older Galaxy devices.
One UI 5.1.1 will provide enhancements to older Galaxy devices
One UI 5.1.1 will bring a plethora of features that will enhance the user experience of large screen devices. The update will also bring new capabilities for flex mode for Foldable devices; now you can easily show or hide the Flex Mode panel. When you fold the device, the panel icon floats up on the screen, which allows you to enjoy a more personalized flex mode panel experience by simply dragging and dropping the icon on the toolbar.
Moreover, when you activate the FLWX mode, you can now fast forward or rewind 10 seconds with the play bar button. So if you’re watching movies in flex mode, you can easily fast forward or rewind the content with convenience just with a single tap. As well, you can use it for multitasking and replying to the messages at the bottom of the screen.
With the new update, users will get a new experience in multitasking; now you can use multiple apps in the floating window and immediately set them in the multiwindow. Now you can easily share any file with simple two-handed drag-and-drop support. To enhance productivity, Samsung has introduced a new taskbar that supports task switching between up to four recent apps.
Samsung has designed the One UI 5.1.1 for the big screen Galaxy devices, so it will be soon available to some of the older Galaxy foldables, including the Galaxy Z Fold4, Z Flip4, Z Fold3, Z Flip3, Z Fold2, and Z Flip, as well as some older Galaxy Tabs, including the Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8+, Tab S8 Ultra, Tab S7, Tab S7+, Tab S7 FE, Tab S6 Lite, Tab A8, Tab A7 Lite, Tab Active3, and Tab Active4 Pro.
One UI 5 watch will give a next-level experience to Galaxy Watch users
The Samsung One UI 5 watch is based on WearOS 4, so it will carry all the new features of the latest operating system as well as some exclusive features that will be available for Galaxy watches. The latest update is focused on enhancing health-related benefits for users.
When the sleep management feature is upgraded, it will come with a new user interface that will simplify the sleep pattern and make it easier to understand. Users can now access sleep coaching right from their wrist, which will help them get the right sleep by following the tracking.
Apart from this, the One UI 5 watch will introduce some new features like the heart rate zone feature, which analyzes your physical capabilities and establishes five optimal running intensity levels, in addition to the more than 100 existing workout trackers.
To enhance heart rate monitoring, Samsung has introduced a new feature called the Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification (IHRN). Additionally, Galaxy Watch users will be able to use some more stylish and informative watch faces, which will match their style and goals.
Samsung will soon release the One UI 5 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5. It is also worth noticing that some of these features will also be available on some older Galaxy watches, including the Galaxy Watch 3 and Galaxy Active 3, in future updates.
