Samsung always brings new updates at the ideal time for its devices, and following the same tradition, it has started distributing the December 2023 update. Initially, the update was available for the locked units of Galaxy S23 devices; now it has expanded to the unlocked variants as well.

As the update is now available for the unlocked units, it will be available to all the units in the very least amount of time. Users who own the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra can identify the latest update by these firmware version numbers: S911U1UES2BWKA, S916U1UES2BWKA and S918U1UES2BWKA respectively.

Samsung Galaxy S25 and S25+ Expected to Feature Sony Camera Sensors

As said earlier, the latest update for the Galaxy S23 is coming as a new security patch in December 2023. So do not expect any new features or significant improvements for the devices; more specifically, the latest update has brought 60+ patches where 50 of the security flaws are addressed by Google, and for extra safety, Samsung has also patched 16 flaws, which will enhance the security of the device. However, it is possible that the update may enhance some features internally.

The latest update for unlocking Galaxy S23 devices is now available to download in a medium software package of 421.40 MB. If you are also using the unlocked variant of the Galaxy S23, then you should update it to the latest version.

To do that, you can simply go to the software update menu in the main system settings, tap on the download and install option, and wait for some time until it checks for a new update. If it says a new update is available, then tap the download button.
