The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 are the highlighted devices this time, which are rapidly getting the January 2024 security patch, which is expanding to more units of the devices. Initially, they received the update back in Europe, then it expanded to the US on limited units, and now it is expanding to more devices depending on different carriers.

It is worth noticing that the Galaxy Z Flip 4 has already received the update on some carriers on the US Cellular and Dish networks, and it has also received the update for the unlocked variants. Now it is receiving the update on more carriers, including T-Mobile and MetroPCS, with the firmware version number F721USQS3EWL9. While the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is getting the update on T-Mobile and MetroPCS with firmware version number F936USQS3EWL9.

The January 2024 security patch is one of the latest security updates. It doesn’t include any new features or innovations for the devices, but it brings some security-related enhancements that will protect your device from external attacks.

Going into details, there are 80 fixes introduced together by Google and Samsung; of them, 75 were added by Google, while 5 were added by Samsung, which has provided fixes for the internal functions of different applications, including My Files, Samsung DeX, Bluetooth pairing processes, etc.

Users who own the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 in the US should start getting new notifications about the update, but if you haven’t gotten the update yet, you can also manually check the update by going to the software update menu in the system settings.
