Samsung Is Gearing Up To Announce Low Price Galaxy Z Fold Without S Pen

Expand the options for the Galaxy fans community to prefer lower-priced devices by introducing a lower-priced Samsung Galaxy Z Fold by the end of this year.
Recent reports indicate that Samsung Electronics will release the Galaxy Z Fold with a lower price tag. To offer the flagship device at a lower price, the brand is gearing up to develop a new Galaxy Z Fold variant with a pen input function as well as a variant without pen input. By this, the brand can reduce the high range price burden on foldable flagship smartphones.
According to the reports, Samsung Electronics plans to release its next foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 (tentative name), expanding the number of models to two. It also has been confirmed that it is furnished along with an S Pen functionality, which permits the users to write or draw similar to its predecessors, and a variant without an S Pen functionality is being further developed.
This will be the first time Galaxy Z Fold will be expanded to two variants. Since Samsung Electronics first released the Z Fold back in 2019, which was able to fold the screen around the vertical axis, it has released one new Fold every fall, and then by 2020, it has debuted one Flip, which folds to the horizontal axis.
Samsung’s plan for a product that denies access to the pen input function is interpreted as an intention to release an ‘entry-level fold’ with a lower price so that one can easily afford the device. Whereas a device with a power price still uses the pen, a part called a ‘digitizer’ that recognizes the movement of the pen is necessary.
These digitizers are made of large area flexible printed circuit boards (PCBs), which can be used by application processors (APs), or Organic Light Emitting Diodes (OLED) is known to be more expensive than general smartphone parts, except for the panel, and the users subtract it, they can also eligible to lower the manufacturing cost.
With this preparation, Korean giants aim to expand foldable smartphone sales. Instead of reducing consumer accessibility by equipping all models with a pen input function, it is a strategy to decrease the purchase overload by creating a relatively low-priced model and aiming for a wider industry.
It is also known that the Korean giants set a goal of selling 10 million units a year, but unfortunately this goal is yet to be completed in 2022. Now, it is expected that Samsung foldable smartphones will be subdivided into high-end and entry-level variants, and the brand is expected to focus on speeding up foldable phone sales.
