Samsung Galaxy A55 and A35 Launch Confirmed, Software Support, and more
Samsung has teased its new upcoming mid-range devices on its official website. The company has also confirmed that it will launch the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 devices on March 11. Interested buyers can now register on the Samsung website for instant notification about its availability.
The company is teasing the Galaxy A55 and A35’s premium water and dust-resistant design, powerful processor, and low-light photography capabilities, but it hasn’t revealed any specifications; however, as per a previous report, we have already known about the possible specifications of these midranges.
Galaxy A55 specifications
The Galaxy A55 will be equipped with a 6.6-inch AMOLED screen that supports a 120 Hz refresh rate with a 1080p resolution and a capacitive screen. For powering the device, it has used the Exynos 1480 processor with a high-performance CPU clocked at 2.75 GHz and four power-efficient cores clocked at 2.0 GHz. The device will feature a 5000mAh battery with the 25W charging capabilities of its predecessor. Going to the camera details, it is equipped with a triple camera setup where one is a 50 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultrawide sensor, and a 5 MP micro camera. For selfies, there is a 32 MP front camera available.
Moreover, the Galaxy A55 is reportedly available with a new 12GB RAM variant, which will be the first of its kind except for the flagship devices. Along with this, the device may also be available in two other variants, including a 6GB+128GB variant and an 8GB+256GB storage variant.
Galaxy A35 specification
The Galaxy A35 will also feature a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED panel with a punch hole cutout. The display will support a 120 Hz refresh rate, which will provide a smooth experience when scrolling and viewing content. Going to camera details, the device will be equipped with a triple camera setup, where, on one camera, a 50 MP primary camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide angle sensor, and a 5 MP camera. It features a 13 MP selfie camera. For long-term power backup, the device will provide a 5000mAh battery with fast charging.
Meanwhile, if we talk about the availability of variants, it is expected that Samsung may be available in 6+128GB storage variants and 8GB+256GB storage variants. It is highly expected that the company will introduce them with One UI 6.1 and Android 14 preinstalled.
Galaxy A55 and A35 won’t follow S24’s software support policy
Samsung has recently announced a new policy for the Galaxy S24 device where the devices will get software update support for seven years of software support with seven major software updates. With that announcement, the Galaxy community has expected that the company may also introduce the same policy for other premium-range devices, but according to the teaser, these devices may not get that long of support, and the company will continue them with five years of software support. It is possible that the seven-year software policy may be limited to the flagship device while another device will get five years of software updates.
