Samsung has officially launched its two most-awaited midranges, the Galaxy A55 5G and the Galaxy A35 5G. Both smartphones come with all the high-end specifications that will provide users with high-end performance, strengthened security, and many new innovative features. Let’s explore the devices in detail.
Design and display
Both the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55 smartphones come with a Super AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Both of the devices feature a triple camera setup on the rear side and a punch-hole camera in the front, which gives them an aesthetic look. It is safe to say the body design is fully inspired by the non-Ultra Galaxy S series smartphones.
Camera
The Galaxy A55 comes with a rear triple camera setup, with a 12 MP ultra-wide camera, a 50 MP main camera, and a 5 MP macro camera. While for the selfie, it comes with a 32 MB selfie camera. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A35 comes with a triple camera setup on the rear side: an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 50MP main camera, and a 5MP macro camera. For the selfie, it comes with a 13 MP front camera. Both devices support autofocus mode and OIS for stable video recording.
Battery and processor
The Galaxy A55 5G has an Exynos 1480 SoC with an AMD RDNA2-based Zclipse 530 GPU, which is paired with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A35 has the older chipset, Exynoos 1380, which was used in the Galaxy A54. It will be paired with the 6 GB or 8GB with 128 GB and 256 GB of storage.
Software and security
Samsung has installed the latest One UI 6.1 software on both Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 devices, which will be based on Android 14. For security enhancement, Samsung has also installed its new features like auto-blocker and private share (now part of Quick Share). As far as the software update availability, both midranges will get up to four generations of software updates and will get five years of security updates.
Price
As per the information, the Galaxy A55 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM costs around EUR 480 ($523). The second variant with the 8+ 256 GB will cost around EUR 530 ($578). Meanwhile, the Galaxy A35 starts at EUR 380 ($414) for 6+128 GB; it also has an 8+128 GB variant option, and an 8+128 GB variant will cost EUR 450 ($491).
