T-Mobile Galaxy S22 gets April 2024 security update in the US, without One UI 6.1
Samsung is back on track, and it is continuously expanding the April 2024 security patch update for eligible Galaxy devices. For instance, earlier today, the company rolled out the update to several Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy Note 20 series. Now, with further expansion, the Galaxy S22 is also starting to get the latest security patch update.
Samsung Galaxy S22 received a new security patch instead of One UI 6.1
After observing the pattern of the One UI 6.1 rollout session, initially the company brought the update to the 2023 flagship devices. Now, there is a high possibility that the company may introduce the One UI 6.1 update to the 2022 flagship devices, where the top contender could be the Galaxy S22, but the company is now rolling out the April 2024 security patch instead of the One UI update.
As of writing, the April 2024 security patch has been spotted in the US. More specifically, the update is spotted on the T-Mobile-locked units of the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra devices. The devices are carrying the firmware version numbers S901USQS4DXD2, S906USQS4DXD2, and S908USQS4DXD2, respectively. It is expected that the update will be available on more carriers in the next few days.
The April 2024 security patch update for the Galaxy S22 doesn’t provide any visible changes for the users, but it will provide some internal security enhancements for managing the overall mechanism of the device. If you also want to take advantage of improvements, then update your device to the latest version.
