Google is constantly working on enhancing the functionalities of Android Auto in order to offer a more improved and enhanced experience to the users. Right after rolling out plenty of new features for Ford EVs, Google introduces additional support for charging connectors other than Tesla’s NACS with the Android Auto’s latest version- 13.2.
Fascinatingly, the latest version Android Auto 13.2 significantly brings two new charging standards, including the Type 6 and LECCS (Light Electric Combined Charging System); especially for light weight EVs like bikes or scooters.
Google headed straight to the stable version of Android Auto, beginning from 13, while skipping the beta updates. In contrast, the newest (13.2) update introduces the Type 6 and LECCS charging system that can be found under Android Auto’s EV settings. By the name LECCS, it’s clear that this update is especially for the EV bikes and scooters as it’s mostly used in them.
Alternatively, the LECCS charging standards that are designed and engineered in India for Light EVs such as Ather Energy. Meanwhile, to recall, Google just dropped the Android Auto support from Android smartphones running Android 8.0 or older.
