Samsung Electronics aims to produce 7 million foldable phones next year and has amended its smartphone production aims for 2025 to 229.4 million units, slightly lower than its initial plan.

The new 229.4 million units target seems only slightly higher as compared to its expected smartphone shipments for 2024. Reportedly, out of 229.4 million smartphones next year, it will produce 179.4 million units in-house and 49.9 million units through joint ventures.

Samsung is is gearing up to produce 60.1 million flagship smartphones in-house next year, including the Galaxy S25 series, which is roughly calculated at around 37 million units. It seems that the mid-range and affordable phone would be produced in slightly lesser quantities. The reason behind this is to maintain a conservative outlook without impacting premium sales.

Apart from the smartphones, the report also revealed the foldable phone production estimate, according to which 3 million units are expected for the Galaxy Z Flip 7, 900,000 for the Galaxy Z Flip FE, and 2 million for the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Calculating all of these estimates, the final digit is approximately 6 million units, which is for foldable phones next year, including a Fan Edition model. The Galaxy S25 series, including a potential Slim variant, is set to debut in January at the Galaxy Unpacked event, while the foldable devices are expected in July.
