Although Samsung’s One UI updates have been incredible to date, the biggest overhaul was witnessed with the arrival of the One UI 7 version that runs Android 15 on top.
However, this version has been the most sluggish update ever. Well, Samsung has finally released the first One UI 7 beta, marking the end of a long anticipation period since Android 15’s official launch.
The first One UI 7 beta essentially marked the beginning of the One UI 7 beta program for the Galaxy S24 series. It was released back on December 5, 2024, which is then followed by Beta 2 on December 16, Beta 3 on January 6, Beta 4 on February 19, Beta 5 on March 17, and finally, Beta 6 on March 26, 2025.
Thankfully, after a very long time, Samsung finally ended the beta streaks for the Galaxy S24 family on April 7, 2025, releasing the most-awaited stable One UI 7 update. More specifically, Samsung gradually started expanding the stable update to even more Galaxy smartphones, tablets, and foldables in eligible regions other than the company’s own fort, South Korea.
At the same time, the first batch of One UI 7 stable rollout consists of the Galaxy S24 family, which was testing the update for over two months or so, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 at the same time. Later on, Samsung began expanding the One UI 7 stable version to more Galaxy devices; these include the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Tab S10 and Tab S9 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, and Galaxy S24 FE.
(Note: Samsung Galaxy A55 units are currently testing One UI 7 Beta 3 and it is available in India only.)
Since One UI 7 has been incredible in terms of feature upgrades and enhancements, the update brought about a lot of significant features.
These include much improved Galaxy AI, Audio Eraser, Now Bar and its smart companion Now Brief, Samsung Log, a more improved Control Center (Quick Panel and Notifications), Media Player Widget integration to notifications and the status bar, and other relevant productivity features like Writing Assist, Call Transcript, and more AI-powered multitasking; upgraded security and strengthened privacy management; and lastly, more customizations added within Good Lock.
