One UI 5.1 rolls out for Galaxy S22, Fold 4, and Flip 4 in Canada

Samsung is very actively distributing the One UI 5.1 update, and this time the company is very aggressive. This is also seen through the last update timeline; from the second week of February, the company has updated several devices, including Galaxy S22, Galaxy S21, Galaxy S20, and many more, but most of the devices have received it in the only one regions. And now, the company is expanding the update to other regions.

As of now, Samsung is expanding the One UI 5.1 update in Canada for three devices, including Galaxy S22, S22+, S22 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and Galaxy Flip 4, while the same device has already gotten the update in several regions. 

Furthermore, Canadian telecommunication provider Fido had previously confirmed the release date of the One UI 5.1 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Flip 4, and Galaxy S22 series devices about a week ago. And true to their word, the update has now arrived on time, much to the delight of Samsung device users in Canada. 

Samsung One UI 5.1 released: Why you should or not install this update

Users who own these devices can identify the latest update by the firmware version numbers; F936WVLU1CWAC for Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4’s update comes with version number F721WVLU1CWAC. While the S22 series devices users will get the same update with different version numbers S901WVLU2CWAI, S906WVLU2CWAI, and S908WVLU2CWAI for Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra respectively.

The One UI 5.1 is the latest upgrade of the One UI; it brings several features in the existing stock apps, such as Camera- now you can change the hue for the selfie easily by the effect button; now it has also gotten the new Expert RAW in the additional menu, Gallery- some new features are introduced like shared family album now you can easily share the album across Galaxy devices. How to download

Users who own Galaxy S22 devices or Galaxy Z Fold 4/Flip 4 devices should get a notification regarding the One UI 5.1, but in case there is any problem with the notification problem you can also check it manually by following the below steps

  1. First, go to the system settings
  2. Then click on software update
  3. Now wait till it searches 
  4. If it shows the One UI 5.1 update available 
  5. Hit the download button, and it will automatically get installed.

Note:

  1. It is recommended to use wifi for installing the update because it is relatively come with a heavy software package.
  2. Before installing the update, make sure your device has a minimum 30 % battery charge.

After introducing the April 2024 security patch to the Galaxy Z Fold 4Galaxy Z Flip 4, and Galaxy Z Fold 3 devices, Samsung has now made the April 2024 security patch update live for the Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy S22, and Galaxy S21 smartphones in South Korea. Earlier, the company had already distributed the same update for these smartphones in some regions.

Notably, the Galaxy S23 FE is getting the April 2024 security patch update in South Korea with the firmware version number S711NKSS1BXD5. For the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra, the update is coming with the firmware version numbers S901NKSU3DXD3, S906NKSU3DXD3, and S908NKSU3DXD3, respectively. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra are getting the same update with firmware version numbers G991NKSU4FXD3, G996NKSU4FXD3, and G998NKSU4FXD3, respectively.

The April 2024 update brings new security-related enhancements; as per the documentation, there are more than 40 fixes introduced. Google has included 27 fixes that will resolve issues in the Android OS. Along with this, Samsung has also added 17 patches that will fix the issues found in Galaxy devices exclusively.

Along with this, Samsung has also introduced a mobile ID function for the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 users. With this function, users will be able to carry their driving license and national veteran registration card in the Samsung Wallet.

Samsung Galaxy S23 gets April 2024 security patch in South Korea

The Samsung Galaxy S23 is one of the flagship smartphones from the Korean giant; it was launched back last year and comes with One UI 5.1 based on Android 13 preinstalled. As per the latest development, the device has already received some significant updates in the form of One UI 6.0 and One UI 6.1 based on Android 14. With the continuation, the device is getting a new security update in the form of the April 2024 patch.
