Samsung released June 2024 security patch for Galaxy Fold 5, Flip 5, Fold 4, Flip 4, Fold 3 & Flip 3

The Korean brand Samsung is releasing a June 2024 security patch for several Galaxy foldable devices. 

A bunch of Galaxy foldable devices include Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3. All of these devices are receiving the update in the US on the Verizon network. Each of the devices getting this new update with their identification firmware version as mentioned below –

  • Galaxy Z Fold 5 – F946USQS3CXE9
  • Galaxy Z Flip 5 – F731USQS3CXE9
  • Galaxy Z Fold 4 – F936USQS5FXF1
  • Galaxy Z Flip 4 – F721USQS5FXF1
  • Galaxy Z Fold 3 – F926USQS6IXF2
  • Galaxy Z Flip 3 – F711USQS7IXF2 

Samsung has already released the June 2024 security patch for several devices. However, this update does not bring any significant upgrades or notable changes; it fixes all the bugs and known issues. The update fixes all the security vulnerabilities, which will enhance the overall security and privacy of these devices. 

The update brings approximately 60 patches to fix multiple vulnerabilities. More particularly, Google has offered 37 patches to be applied to the Android OS. This June 2024 security patch boosts the stability, reliability, and overall system software of the devices mentioned above.

Samsung updates Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 to June 2024 security patch in its Home country

Samsung has already introduced the June 2024 security patch to almost all the devices, including the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22. Now,  with the latest development, the company has started expanding the update to Korean units.

According to the information, the Korean units of the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra are getting new updates with the firmware version numbers S901NKSS4EXF1, S906NKSS4EXF1, and S908NKSS4EXF1, respectively. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra devices are getting new updates with the firmware version numbers G991NKSS5GXF1, G996NKSS5GXF1, and G998NKSS5GXF1, respectively.

The June 2024 security patch doesn’t bring any new features or other developments, but it will provide some improvements to the working security of the devices. In simple words, with the latest security patch, the device will get more protected with the fixes to the loopholes found in the recent research done through Google. To satisfy consumers, Samsung has also brought new security patch updates for the devices, which will improve the overall functioning of the devices.

Verizon rolls out One UI 6.1 update for Galaxy Tab A9+ in the USA

Earlier this month, Samsung rolled out the One UI 6.1 to several units of the Galaxy Tab A9 series, including Europe and Asia. Now,  with the latest development, the company has made it live in the US on the Verizon network and is expected to be available more in the next few days.

Notably, the One UI 6.1 update is now live for the locked variant of the Galaxy A9+ smartphone; it is spotted on the Verizon network, and users can identify the latest update by the firmware version number X218USQU2CXE6. With the latest update, you will get support for several new features that will enhance the experience of using the device. It is worth noticing that the update is coming with an older security update in the form of a May 2024 security patch.

One UI 6.1 features 

With the latest One UI 6.1 update, several new features have arrived. According to the official changelog, the latest update has introduced new battery protection, which will extend your battery’s lifespan. Now you can customize alarms, change the background with your own images or videos, and tap the clock to change the style. In the Gallery application, you can copy and paste images.

Galaxy S24 Series started getting June 2024 update in India

Samsung has started rolling out the June 2024 security patch with the Galaxy S24 series device, then expanded it to more devices, but it is worth noticing that, due to the server limitation, the company hasn’t provided the update to all the units available across the world. The update is now available for the Indian units.

Samsung has rolled out the June 2024 security patch for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra with the firmware version numbers S921BXXS2AXED, S926BXXS2AXED, and S928BXXS2AXED, respectively. With the latest update, users will see security related to the enhancement, which will strengthen the security of the device.

Going into the details, Samsung has already published full details about the patch, where it has mentioned that the June 2024 update will bring nearly 60 patches, whereas Google has included 37 patches. Along with this, the Korean giant has also added 22 more patches. As far as the differences between these patches are concerned, Google‘s patches are applied to all Android devices, but Samsung has exclusively rolled out some patches for Galaxy devices.
